Amicalola Falls State Park

At 729 feet, Amicalola Falls is the tallest cascade in the Southeast.

This little creek turns into the falls about 30 yards from where I took this picture. Andy and Nathanael loved cooling off in this creek.

Such a nice view at the top of the falls!

Andy flexed his BIG muscles in front of the trail. We decided to do the short trail that takes your right to the falls. One day we hope to come back and stay at the Len Foot Hike Inn- Georgia’s only backcountry lodge- you hike 5 miles to get to the lodge- how neat!

A sweet stranger asked us if we wanted to have a family picture made in front of the falls. You never know what your going to get..... Nate's picking his nose :)

I had to include this picture... it's real life. We had a picnic on the back of Mark's truck. Yes, we could have eaten at a picnic table but this was much easier and the boys love being in the back of the truck.

Looks like ya'll had a lot of fun! Travis and I went up to Blue Ridge in February for a little getaway and we hiked that 5 mile trail...beautiful views and a great work out!

No, we actually didn't know about it until we hiked to the top:) But we are definitely interested now! We love that area anyway and would love to get a cabin on the river and stay with the kids for a long weekend sometime.
