saying good-bye

Yesterday was a hard and very sad day for our family. We had to say good-bye to Brinkley, our beloved dog of 6.5 years.  Brinkley has had lymphoma for the past 3 months. This past weekend he took a turn for the worse and starting showing signs that he was in pain and beginning to suffer
We are thankful for the wonderful years we had with him! We honestly could not have asked for a better dog. He was a treasured part of our family that brought us so much joy. He was wonderful with our children - truly a gentle giant. We spent all day yesterday reminiscing of such fond memories we had with him. We will miss him more than words can say!

We knew Monday morning that he would not make it any longer. With much sadness we had our good-byes and took a few family pictures with him.
Andrew understood what was going on. We had talked about Brinkley being sick for a while now. My grandfather died almost a year ago so he has 'experienced' death before. Nate didn't understand but keep loving on him and would say "bye bye BB".
